Motion
The Mummy Boy Title Screen is a unique 2D motion project that gave me the opportunity to work alongside our Director of E-commerce on a side-scroller game for our website. The goal was to create a title screen that emulated retro video games, capturing that old Nintendo feeling. Super Mario Bros. 3's title screen served as a major inspiration for the final product, effectively capturing the sprite-flickering CRT memory.
The primary goal of this project was achieving a retro video game look with our brand mascot. Working with other members of the team, I was able to collect files used in previous projects and cut out specific assets that I wanted to use. As I made progress, our team decided we needed multiple assets: two sizes for motion and two sizes for static images.
The finished products worked perfectly when implemented on our website and social media. Some interesting ways I was able to achieve that retro look was by adding in a CRT overlay and emulating sprite-flickering on the character. In the end, I created multiple motion graphics and static images to be used throughout various mediums.
